Instant Ice Pack

Instant ice, or ready-to-use ice, is a very useful and well-known medical device, to the point that it should never be missing from any first aid kit. It is also widely used in sports.
Instant ice is a single-use bag that, thanks to the substances it contains, is able to generate cold and thus become an excellent external painkiller and anti-inflammatory remedy.

To activate the instant ice pack in a few seconds, simply locate and burst the water sachet inside the bag and cause the water to mix with the urea. Gently shake the bag for a few seconds and apply immediately to the affected area.

The application of ice following trauma and musculoskeletal disorders can, in a sense, be understood as the simplest form of cold therapy. The use of ice for bruises and musculoskeletal trauma helps to reduce the perception of pain, thanks to the analgesic (albeit temporary) effect of cold on the treated area: hypothermia at the skin level, in fact, prevents the transmission of painful impulses.

Both are excellent solutions for creating cold but with important differences and different uses.

The instant ice pack is single-use and lasts about 20-30 minutes, while the synthetic ice pack is reusable and lasts about 30-40 minutes.

Activating the instant ice pack takes a few seconds, unlike the synthetic ice pack which must be frozen beforehand for use.

Therefore, in an emergency, it is essential to have instant ice, which, however, does not have the same value as synthetic ice for continuous and programmed cold therapy, as the latter is reusable and therefore more ecological and economical.

An instant ice pack produces cold for approximately 20-30 minutes.

Instant ice is single-use and not reusable.

Unfortunately, instant ice cannot be recycled, but must be disposed of with residual/non-recyclable waste.

The temperature reached by the instant ice pack is between -5 and 0°C and is similar to that of traditional ice derived from freezing water.
